Volleyball “Side-out Heritage,” comes the low rumble from Mr. Warner for a second year. In our second year of volleyball, there have been a lot of changes. The first big change is that there are two different teams now, a Junior Varsity team and a Varsity team. This created another change, tryouts! All the girls that wanted to play on the volleyball team had to try out, and we all made the team! So far we have played Luther East High School, Illinois Lutheran High School twice, Portage Christian High School twice, and Covenant Christian High School. We also have participated in a tournament at South Haven Christian. We are scheduled to play Covenant Christian and Luther East next. The Junior Varsity has won four and lost one of their five games. The Varsity won three and lost two of their five games. Our tournament at South Haven was a happy day for the Varsity team. We came in second place, receiving the first trophy for Heritage Christian High School! We were thrilled, and when we came back to school, we showed Mr. Van Uffelen and Mrs. Looyenga who seemed just as excited as we did! The teams will remember to “have fun” as the coaches tell us. We must also try to witness that we are Christians to our opponents by the way we play in our volleyball games. Hot Lunch Schedule
