What’s the Headliner?
The Headliner is Heritage Christian High School’s new biweekly newsletter.
Every other Friday afternoon, a fresh issue of The Headliner
will appear “hot off the press” with announcements, schedule updates,
and school-related articles.
Designed with the purpose of keeping industrious students,
inquisitive parents, and caring faculty on the same page, this newsletter
will provide several interesting and informative pieces of information.
In The Headliner one will find announcements from the administrator,
the faculty, and the secretaries. This newsletter will hold practice
and game schedules for school sports and several other extra-curricular
activities. It will carry Hot Lunch schedules. It will offer several
thought-provoking student editorials.
It is the
sincere desire of the publishers that this newsletter becomes a
useful communication tool for everyone involved in Heritage Christian
High School. If you have questions, comments, suggestions, or contributions,
please contact Mr. Dan Van Uffelen.

Hot Lunch
By Gina Verberg
Hot
Lunch is a privilege given to us by the school. The first hot lunch
of the school year has to be memorable – that’s a given. Usually,
the first hot lunch is something like hot dogs. (Don’t get me wrong;
I love hot dogs). But shouldn’t the first hot lunch be something
like…pizza?
Well, that’s exactly what we had! We had pizza, ice cream, and pop.
We were all very excited, I’m sure, to be able to race into the
gym and get in line by our very own kitchen. There was a table full
of pop, and we all grabbed our choices. Next, we all got our pizza:
pepperoni, sausage, or just plain cheese. Three slices of Aurelio’s
pizza for only 75 cents is quite a deal! And don’t forget the ice
cream: a dessert with hot fudge, vanilla ice cream, and Oreo crust.
The volunteers in the kitchen were very helpful. I would like to
thank all of you for giving us your time! We, of course, couldn’t
have done it without you.
