About Us

Heritage Christian High School is a school established by the Association for Protestant Reformed Secondary Education to assist parents in the rearing of their children according to the demands of the covenant to the utmost of their power as vowed before God and the church. This organization is comprised of members of the Protestant Reformed Churches in the Greater Chicagoland and Northwest Indiana area. The purpose of this organization is to provide a system of secondary education to those children whose parents share a commitment to the Reformed faith. The standard for Christian instruction in our school shall be the Scriptures preserved for us in the Authorized King James Version of the Bible.

This organization is based upon the following principles:

A. The Bible is the infallibly inspired, written word of God, the doctrine of which is contained in the Three Forms of Unity: The Heidelberg Catechism, the Belgic Confession of Faith, and the Canons of Dordrecht; and as such forms the basis for administration, instruction and discipline in the school. These scriptures are God's love letter to His people in which he reveals to them His covenant. Within this covenant we, as God's friend-servants, are to live a life of loving, serving and glorifying Jehovah our God. In this way, we by grace are fulfilling man's chief end in both creation and redemption.

B. Our Sovereign, Triune, Covenant God has from eternity chosen and in time forms a people unto Himself that they may stand in covenant relationship to Him, and live to His praise in friendship and loving service in all spheres of life in the midst of a sinful world. This covenant God graciously establishes with believing parents and their children in the line of continued generations. (Genesis 17:7, Acts 2:39)

C. God commands believing parents to bring their children up "...in the nurture and admonition of the Lord" (Ephesians 6:1-4 & Deuteronomy 6:7). The training of the covenant children in the school as well as in the home and in the church must serve to prepare them to follow their life-long calling to reveal the glory of their God by living an antithetical life lived from the principle of regeneration by grace.
